Bluenose: Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Stan: My name is Stan Sebring, a Granite Falls native. I pursued my education in the Computer Support & Telecommunications Program at Minnesota West Community & Technical College, right here in Granite Falls. Following that, I gained valuable experience over eight years living in Sioux Falls, SD. During my time there, I worked at Midco, where I held various roles spanning customer support, quality assurance, and customer insights. I made the decision to return to my roots in Granite Falls two years ago. Currently, I work at Avera in Marshall. Outside of work, I enjoy time  with my supportive family, my orange cat, Buttercup, and sharing my life with my wonderful girlfriend, Malorie. In my free time, I also indulge in various video games, movies, tinkering with computers, and exploring the outdoors through hiking.

Bluenose: What got you interested in running for the Board of Directors for Bluenose Public House?

Stan: I’ve been following the concept of Bluenose since its initial idea as a brewery, and since then, I’ve watched it grow and evolve into something special for our community. When returning to Granite Falls in 2022 I became proud Bluenose Gopher member 342. The opportunity to be a board member presented itself when my high school friend Kate Hegna and I volunteered as the SAG wagon for the Bluenose 50. It was during this time that Kate mentioned the board had open seats and suggested that we, along with her husband Karl and our mutual friend Zach Koepke, should consider running. Recognizing the chance to play a role in the continued growth and success of Bluenose within our community, I put in my name. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a part of Bluenose’s journey, and I’m excited to contribute to its flourishing future.

Bluenose: Can you talk about your role with the Board of Directors?

Stan: As the Vice Chair, I process new memberships, help advertise upcoming events on social media, and assist the board and Bluenose wherever I’m needed. With such a great board of directors they make it so easy to work together to complete our goals.

Bluenose: What makes Bluenose special to you?

Stan: What makes Bluenose truly special to me is the sense of belonging it offers. When you step through the door, you’re instantly embraced by a warm and inviting atmosphere. It’s a place where you can relax and be yourself, surrounded by friendly faces and a cozy ambiance. What’s remarkable is the community aspect – at Bluenose, you’re not just a customer, but a valued member of a supportive community. Whether it’s sharing ideas, showcasing your creativity, or simply being yourself, Bluenose provides a space where you’re always heard and welcomed with open arms.

Bluenose: What do you see for the future of Bluenose?

Stan: I see Bluenose becoming the go-to hub for community gatherings of any kind. A place where musicians, artists, and creative minds can continue to come and showcase their talents. I see the future of Bluenose full of memorable events, excellent cuisine, and tasty drinks from across Minnesota.

Bluenose: Anything else you’d like to add?

Stan: I’d add that it’s been so rewarding to be apart of this co-op that is Bluenose Gopher Public House. Since joining the board, Bluenose has accomplished so many things with the help of our community. I’m so excited for all of our upcoming events and I can’t wait to see what this year brings. I hope to see you all there.
