Keeping a community gathering place open takes more than the money we make across the bar and kitchen. Like any small business, we experience slower months and unexpected expenses. And as a public house in a historic downtown building, we have significant annual and periodic costs—including insurance, licensing, property taxes, utilities, maintenance, and repairs.

That's why we're building our operating reserves.

Bluenose Stewards are annual supporters who help strengthen the financial foundation of our cooperative public house.

Your gift of $10, $50, $200, $500, or more helps us build a reserve that we can draw on during slower months and when large or unexpected expenses come due. A healthy reserve gives Bluenose greater stability and allows us to plan ahead rather than simply react to the next challenge.
